PSL hikes gate charges

FOOTBALL fans should brace themselves to fork out more to watch Castle Lager Premiership matches after the PSL board of governors agreed to increase gate charges for the 2019 season at their Annual General Meeting on Sunday.

Below are the rest of the resolutions of the PSL Annual general meeting.

Standard Player Contract:
The Premier Soccer League and Footballers Union of Zimbabwe are finalising a standard player contract subject to approval by the Zimbabwe Football Association. This will go a long way in resolving player disputes.

The Premier Soccer League Strategic Planning Process
The PSL resolved to immediately commence a strategic planning process which will clearly outline the PSL vision for the next five years. 

The strategic planning process is set to start in April 2019.  
Gate Charges
The board of governors resolved to increase gate charges for the 2019 Castle Lager Premier Soccer season to RTGS$5 for the

Rest of the Ground. 
Clubs that wish to charge more are required to apply to the PSL, however, gate charges must not be more than RTGS$10 (Rest of the Ground). The gate charges may be reviewed during the course of the season.

Abuse of Ball Boys
The board of governors noted with concern the abuse of ball boys/girls by clubs and resolved to charge clubs a fine of RTGS $2 000 for the offence. 

Club Licensing
The AGM reiterated the importance of Club Licensing and resolved to cooperate with the newly-appointed Zifa Club Licensing First Instance Body.
