Macheso ends 2018 on a high - opens 2019 at Jongwe Corner

HARARE - Sungura giant Alick Macheso has had a successful 2018 following the release of his latest album Dzinosvitsa Kure and ended the year on a high with a number of successful gigs.

The album carries popular tracks such as Ndakakutadzirei, Kudzwai and Pfuma Yacho which have been received by his legion of fans.

He has been to several parts of the country promoting the project and has already been touted by many as the best artiste of the year.

His followers have deemed it a mockery by some quarters to put him up in contention with rising musicians which are yet to stand the test of time.

Wherever he has performed, the musician has attracted huge crowds and his festive season gigs are a testimony.

His end of year gigs in Chiredzi and Chivi were full and the videos and pictures of the gigs are there for many to see.

“The gigs were all great, people came to support and we did our best to keep them entertained,” his publicist Tich Makahamadze said.

Baba Sharo as the musician is fondly known will begin 2019 with a performance at Jongwe Corner today.

He will be supported by Lady Storm popularly known as Eriza following her featuring in Jah Prayzah’s video Eriza.

His camp has promised fireworks at this gig which marks the start of the new year.

“We will celebrate the start of the year at Jongwe Corner. This is a family show together with Lady Storm. 2018 has been great for us in as far as music is concerned and we are thankful to all our followers for the support. We will not stop giving them the best entertainment and always listen to their concerns and address them,” his camp has said.
