LSZ de-registers two lawyers

HARARE - The Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ) has de-registered two lawyers over alleged misconduct.

In a notice yesterday, LSZ said the two lawyers were de-registered last week.

“The Law Society of Zimbabwe would like to notify the public that the following were deregistered by the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal (LPDT) sitting at Harare on Tuesday the 4th of December 2018; Russel Dzete 4/17 and Tonderai C. Mukuku LPDT 05/18.

“The above persons have ceased to be registered lawyers with immediate effect. Until such a time that they are re-registered, the above persons no longer have the rights and privileges of registered lawyers,” the notice read.

The Law Society has urged members of the public to desist from dealing with all non-registered lawyers.

“The Law Society will not be responsible for any loss or prejudice arising out of the conduct of de-registered lawyers as these no longer fall under its jurisdiction.
Members of the public are urged to periodically check the updated lists of de-registered members from the Law Society website which is,” the LSZ said.
