Nyikadzino dumps Nichrut

GWERU - Barely a week after being relegated from the Castle Lager Premiership, Nichrut head coach John Nyikadzino has dumped the Central Region Division One-bound Shurugwi-based outfit.

Nyikadzino has now joined ambitious fellow Division One side Shesham FC.

Speaking to the Daily News, Shesham chairperson Malvern Paradza confirmed the development.

“John is joining us, it’s true with effect from December 1 and it’s a two-year contract; what is left is for him to put pen to paper; everything is agreed,” Paradza said.

“His target is to take Shesham to the Premier League, that is why we have given him a two-year contract, if he gains promotion next year he will continue.

“This season was a learning curve for us and next season we will be going for the big one, and Nyikadzino has the credentials.

“He has won promotion before with Chapungu and Nichrut that is why we have settled for the best.”

Nichrut secretary Admire Hapazari could neither confirm nor deny the move but insisted Nyikadzino was still under contract with the club until the end of the year.

“I cannot really comment on that issue now but Nyikadzino is still our coach, his contract expires at the end of the year.” Hapazari said.

Nyikadzino missed Nichrut’s last six games due to injuries he sustained in a car accident in September on his way to a league match at Ascot Stadium against Harare City.
