Women, Wine & Words comes to Harare

HARARE - Harare joint, Theatre in the Park, will celebrate women through music, poetry and art this Saturday.

The event will run under the banner “Women, Wine and Words” (WWW), a concept started by Intwasa Festival in Bulawayo.

“This weekend Theatre in the Park celebrates women through music, poetry, theatre and art in the first Harare edition of Women, Wine & Words and features Hope Masike, Patience Phiri, Tinashe Tafirenyika, DJ Noma that Girl and Vera.

“Join us for this full day celebration of the female condition with tonnes of free talks, activations, entertainment and of course wine!” reads the statement from Theatre in the Park.

Theatre in the Park/ Enthuse Afrika official Stephanie Kapfunde was happy to partner Intwasa Festival on WWW Harare edition.

“This partnership with Intwasa Festival has made it possible for us to co-create the Harare edition of WWW.

“We are glad to be a part of the WWW showcase and hope that this will celebrate both budding and existent female creatives across the country and beyond.”

Intwasa Festival director Raisedon Baya was equally delighted to see his concept being adopted in Harare.

“As Intwasa, we are excited about the partnership and spreading WWW outside Bulawayo and outside the festival,” Baya said.

“We hope this new move will bring more awareness to the WWW property and hopefully attract more partnerships for Intwasa Festival.”
