Mushowani remain calm

HARARE - Zifa Northern Region Division One log leaders Mushowani Stars are not getting carried away despite enjoying a six-point lead at the top of the table as they prepare for a date against tricky Banket United this afternoon at Chaminuka Stadium.

With four matches left before the season ends, Mushowani Stars need two wins to seal promotion into the top flight.

The Mashonaland Central-based side stayed on course for promotion following last weekend’s narrow 1-0 victory over Pam United.

As they prepare for this afternoon’s clash against Banket, their coach Levison Selous wants his charges to remain focused.

“It’s also important for us to not to concede goals while we play to collect maximum points,” he said.

Selous is confident his side can keep up the momentum and wrap up the championship as soon as possible.

“Banket is not an easy opponent so we expect a tough match and we are ready for it. The team is in good shape, we don’t have any injuries,” he said.

Meanwhile, second-placed ZRP FC will be hoping to keep pressure on the log leaders when they face Karoi United this afternoon at Morris Depot.

Third-placed Beta XI will also be taking on Herentals U20 at Motor Action Sports Club.
