Securico celebrates 20 years

HARARE - Security Company (Securico) is celebrating its 20th anniversary having revolutionised the country’s private security industry by acquiring a Quality Management System Standard in 2005.

In its short history, Securico has scored notable milestones that makes it one of the organisations with a unique success story in Zimbabwe.

Securico’s story reads like a fairy tale punctuated by a string of successes that are akin to very few stories in Zimbabwe over the last decades Securico managing director Divine Ndhlukula said at the company’s anniversary celebrations with its employees in Harare.

Barely five years from its founding in 1998 the company emerged as a leader in service quality in the private security sector, upstaging organisations that had been in the industry for over fifty years.

“It all began with Securico operating from a servant’s quarters with only five employees. Five years later the company had over 2 000 employees. It had revolutionised the private security industry by becoming the first manned security service provider in Zimbabwe to be ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard certified,” she said.

The phenomenal growth of Securico centres on three key business pillars, investment in its employees, customers and its award-winning leadership.

“Securico employees are the anchor to the high service standards that the company is renowned for. With over 20 diverse welfare programmes aimed at various facets of employees’ lives, Securico emerged as one of Zimbabwe’s top 10 employers of choice, the 7th Best Employer position for three years running,” Ndhlukula said.

Led by its multiple awards winner and internationally acclaimed managing director, the Securico team is a passionate and dynamic team that has innovatively developed winning strategies.

“The leadership team has consistently trail blazed and shaped the private security industry into a modern and highly professional sector,” she said.

Securico, is the largest provider of cash management services in Zimbabwe when it comes to volume and geographical spread.

The company is also a leading supplier of electronic security solutions and has undertaken the highest number of big electronic security installations in the country.

The company’s biggest highlights include winning the bid to secure the Fifa World Cup Trophy during its tour of Zimbabwe in 2009, winning the Grand Prize of the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship in 2011, being the first Security Company to attain ISO 9001 and becoming the inaugural winner of the National Quality Awards (NAQA) — Company of the Year Awards (Large Enterprises) in 2012. — The Financial Gazette
