Miss Zim Twins pageant pushed to end of year

HARARE - The inaugural beauty pageant Miss Zim Twins national finals has been pushed to December to allow organisers ample time to prepare for the event.

Organised by Sarah Dee, the amazing beauty pageant which targets sets of twin-sisters aged between 18 and 25 was initially scheduled for August.

“Being the first of its kind, we want to give our best. We don’t want to rush things, hence pushing it to December,” Sarah Dee told the Daily News.

“We need a lot of time scouting for twins in different towns and cities around the country. More importantly, we are still looking for sponsorship and we hope all will be in place by December,” she said.

The Miss Zim Twins pageant is expected to feature 15 sets of twins.

Meanwhile, auditions are going on well with Harare hosting the event on August 4 at Ambassador Hotel.

Of late, Sarah Dee whose real name is Sarah Dhliwayo is consolidating her influence in the showbiz circles.

She made her name in the music industry as a singer and dancer. She is also a gender-activist and an events-organiser only to mention but a few.

Last year, she launched a single track Kushandiswa Taramba meant to end gender- based violence in society.

She has also organised a number of all-female concerts in and around Harare as a way to promote the girl child in the music industry.

Born in Bulawayo’s Emganwini area, Sarah Dee ventured into showbizindustry in 2007 with album Sokalami. She went on to release projects: Question Mark, Ndichakuda, Hamusati Maona and Chaputika being the latest one.
