Businessman gives 300 stands to churches

HARARE - Kadoma businessman Jimayi Muduvuri is set to give 300 residential stands to churches and people living with disabilities.

Speaking at the handover of 40 stands and 10 houses in Kadoma on Saturday,  Muduvuri — who is also the patron of the Zimbabwe Amalgamated Churches (ZaC) — said his members are struggling to acquire land to build churches, let alone build their own houses.

“After Kadoma I will also do the same in Norton and Harare. I will give stands in every town and every province. Disability does not mean inability I want to help these people so that they will have a better life.

“I am part of disabled people we need to be respected by the community but for a long time people have looking down on us however with millions living with disabilities we cannot develop as a country without respecting the disabled people.”

Muduvuri said government must also promote freedom of worship by giving residential stands to churches.

“Churches are struggling, many of them are praying in open spaces and we want this to end.”
