Killer T, Jah Prayzah in collaboration

HARARE - One of Zimbabwe's most followed dancehall artistes - Kelvin Kusikwenyu aka Killer T - has collaborated with Jah Prayzah on his forthcoming album which he says is a testament of the hours he put in the studio in preparation for its release.

The album will be released on April 7.

Refreshingly, Killer T holds no grudge against Jah Prayzah who pipped him to the Nama awards in 2016 in controversial circumstances.

Instead, the popular chanter, also known as Chairman by his legion of fans, has chosen to focus on the talents and pulling power of Jah Prayzah as he bids to dominate the dancehall market.

Speaking through his manager Kudzai “Supa” Biston, Killer T said preparations for the launch are at an advanced stage.

“We have featured Jah Prayzah on one of the songs on the forthcoming album. I can confirm that the album is one of his best so far.

“We are still planning about the release hence I am not going to pre-empt everything,” said Biston.

Killer T is undoubtedly one of the most consistent artistes who has grown to become a musician of choice among those enamoured with Zimdancehall.

This is a huge transformation as Killer T was a commuter omnibus driver six years ago.

During that time, he would, like many others, listen to other Zimdancehall artistes he is now slugging out with in the cut throat music industry.

Last year, the Takangodaro hit maker celebrated his five years in the music industry at Mbare Netball Complex, his home ground, where thousands came out in full support.

He boasts a respectable discography which includes songs such as Ngoma Ndaimba Suspects, Tirikumhanya, Officer Mirai Chirukazi, Makarova Gunners and Ziso Rako Hameno among others.

Killer T is one of the pioneers of Zimdancehall artistes to collaborate with gospel musicians and did a duet with Fungisayi Zvakavapano-Mashavave on the hit Vanondibatirana.
