Huge interest registered in colour party

HARARE - Zimbabwe's biggest colour party continues to attract interest with online tickets to this year’s sprint sold out — six months ahead of schedule.

Dubbed “The Zimbabwe Colour Sprint”, this year’s event which would be held in September at Borrowdale Race Course, in Harare, is expected to break attendance records.

“The Rainbow Run is entirely focused on fun so there is no competitive atmosphere, no recorded times and no age restrictions, all that matters is that you enjoy yourself and finish covered in loads of colour.

“You can be an olympic athlete or someone entering a run for the first time in your life, it really doesn’t matter at all. The real winner on the day is the person who has the most fun,” the organisers said.

Colour party focuses on people being doused from head to toe with coloured powder while they sprint, jog or walk a prepared 5km route.

Early birds will buy tickets at $20 for adults and from while latecomers will fork out $30.

Part of the proceeds will go towards supporting orphans with school fees. On the event day, by showing an early bird registration lucky people will receive goodie bags limited to 2 000 entries.

The event would be spiced up by local and international DJs.
