Chamisa slammed over US trip

HARARE - Zanu PF MP for Buhera South Joseph Chinotimba has reprimanded MDC legislator for Kuwadzana East Nelson Chamisa, saying as a pastor he must not be globetrotting bad-mouthing the country.

Chinotimba told legislators that Chamisa must clarify to the National Assembly the purpose of his visit to Washington where he addressed the US Foreign Relations Committee.

“I saw one of my pastors who went to America, who is also a Member of Parliament.  He was seeking audience to say soldiers should be removed — he said a lot of things... Instead of inviting investors to come to Zimbabwe and invest,  so I wanted to say to him, as a pastor, should he move around speaking about the removal of soldiers from one place or the other.

“When he stood up he did not even acknowledge that his mission to America was successful...we want to know why he visited America, to just hallucinate there. Surely if Members of Parliament continue to hallucinate, the economy will not stabilise,” Chinotimba said.

National Assembly speaker Jacob Mudenda said: “If you want serious debate on such issues relating to international affairs, you can bring that under a motion.”

This comes as an MDC Alliance delegation which included, Chamisa and Tendai Biti delivered a moving testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health policy in Washington DC last week Tuesday.

In a joint statement, Chamisa and Biti said they we were on a patriotic duty to ensure that Zimbabwe gets back into business again, “particularly if we are able to bring back African and international confidence by running a truly credible election next year.”

“During this trip, we met business and political leaders in Africa and beyond. We made presentations to various bodies, including the US Foreign Relations Committee, exhorting them to assist this country in its return to legitimacy which is the only way we can unlock the political and economic handcuffs currently arresting the nation,” they said.

The MDC Alliance is set to lose the 2018 Elections. They are trying to hold the nation to ransom because they dream of being the next Government. Pastor Chamisa must tell the truth they asked sanctions to be kept and our children unemployed until they tell their handlers they think they have conditions likely to result in an Opposition victory. You have already lost together with your strange bedfellows. Zimbabwe is not for sell! The failed regime change strategy has one destiny- he dustbin of defeat. SADC will observe our elections and the workers you left unpaid and the unemployed Youth will vote against you. MDC used to be a Labour Movement but as a political party they have no ideology' Tell the people you are broke and went to ask for money. The truth will set you free Pastor Chamisa

i am an mdc supporter but,i am afraid to say that the mission to the usa ,was counter productive and can only lead to the heavy loss of mdc at the polls next year.Dont appear to be so desperate to get into power.ZANU[PF] machine is well oiled and effective even opposition will vote for it

Innocent Zhou seem to forget that the reason we got into this economic turmoil is political legitimacy. Tendai and Nelson did not go to America to discourage economic support. They pleaded for it instead, but, to ensure political legitimacy they urged the Federal government to remind the Zanu PF government to hold free and fair plebiscite which will guarantee unlimited economic integration and growth. All better things Zanu PF is doing is courtesy of the opposition rebuke and pressure. This is part of democratic processes in a country.

Within MDC family we don't need ignorant people and supporters such as Caleb Zhou. Please stop pretending that you are MDC supporter when your line of thinking is opposite. To imagine that ED will fix economy reflects on your lack of understanding of what an economy is & what drive economies. People are just using these terms loosesly and all meaning is lost. Zim needs to go back to legality, legitimacy, democracy and then development (2Ls & 2Ds). Anything else is fantacy and illusionary, period!

Remember ED was part of 37 years ruining of Zimbabwe's life. He was minister through and through so for you to think he will do miracle he failed to do in 37 years is madness at least. These are the same people who move with the wind without direction, they supported Mugabe till the 14/11/17, then changed joining the wind when people removed Mugabe.

I think Nelson Chamisa, and Biti where called by the US Congress to answer a simple question; Should USA lift the Zimbabwe sanctions;Yes or No. They decided to answer NO.
