BREAKING NEWS: Military takes over, says Mugabe safe

HARARE – Zimbabwe’s military has announced the takeover of government by targeting criminals ande assured the nation that President Robert Mugabe and his family are safe.

Announcing the takeover of government early in the morning in full military gear, major general Sibusiso Moyo said they are “only targeting criminals” in government.

“Firstly, we wish to assure the nation that His Excellency, the President, of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Head of State and Government and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde R.G Mugabe and his family are safe and sound and their security is guaranteed. We are only targeting criminals around him who are committing crimes that are causing social and economic suffering in the country in order to bring them to justice,” said Moyo.

According to the army, a series of events that started in 2015 has resulted in an economic stagnation and no development due to the infighting in Zanu PF, which army general Constantino Chiwenga said was being caused by “counter revolutionaries”.

“As soon as we have accomplished our mission we expect that the situation will return to normalcy” Moyo said.

Moyo further said “to both our people and the world beyond our borders: We wish to make it abundantly clear that this is not a military takeover of Government. What the Zimbabwe Defence Forces is doing is to pacify a degenerating political, social and economic situation in our country which if not addressed may result in violent conflict”.

He added that the “the generality of the people of Zimbabwe” must “remain calm and limit unnecessary movement” but the army urged those who are going to work and “with essential business in the city to continue their normal activities as usual. Our wish is that you enjoy your rights and freedoms and that we return our country to a dispensation that allows for investment, development and prosperity that we all fought for and for which many of our citizens paid the supreme sacrifice”.

The WARVETs, I mean TRUE and GENUINE WARVETS are VERY DISCIPLINED IS SPIRIT AND CONDUCT. What we have just witnessed is clear testimony to that. If only Zanu had remained principled and disciplined, then it could have taken Zimbabwe to greater heights. But ALAS! And if only MDC can emulate the discipline and principled character of WARVETS, then they can provide a bright side to this bleak Zimbabwe situation that prevails. MDC guided by Tsvangirayi and Khupe can win the hearts and souls of Zimbabwe PEOPLE, army and warvets included. Some utterances by these so called VPs and sidekicks in the MDC alliance show indiscipline, youthful exuberance and downright lack of leadership experience. MDC must project the ability to lead in principled manner, not kungoita se mhepo which can blow in any direction.

Lets not celebrate the fall of the evil one bcoz the most evil one is about to take over it is obvious now that the person who had been abusing the military in this country is Munangagwa and the coup is in solidarity of him after he was sacked from govt last week it will change nothing to this country . Watching the soldiers on tv every thing they said was vague and not comprehensive their intention not made clear .They said they want to arrest the criminals and that is not their job scope they should have said they want to arrest G40 so as to please Munangagwa . Because if they seriously want to arrest criminals they must start by Mnangagwa they should not leave him bcoz if they do not arrest him they will be partisan and criminals as well . SADC where are you do something like ecowads always do
