Zodwa cancels Zim tour

HARARE - Controversial socialite Zodwa Wabantu will disppoint her multitudes of fans after she cancelled her Zimbabwe tour which was suppossed to kick start tomorrow and end on Sunday in Bulawayo.

The diva has cancelled the shows; Private lounge Harare today, Club 263 Mutare tomorrow and Club Connect Bulawayo on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Devine Assignment said they had done everything from this side and were ready for her.

“We have had all her papers and clearances, but she has chickened out. We are sorry to all our clients, but this is beyond us.”

Meanwhile Durban Distruction Boyz will return to Club Connect tomorrow night where they delivered a delicious dish of Gqom music in September this year.

The dance music duo, which has been “invited back by public demand,” will showcase their just-released album titled Gqom is the Future which has already spawned the hit Omunye.

Gqom is The Future features top stars such as DJ Tira, Babes Wodumo and Benny Maverick.

The duo — Mgobhozi (21) and Zipho ‘Gold’ Mthembu (20) — hail from Kwa-Mashu and have popularised Gqom — a genre of dance music popular in Durban.

Distruction Boys have made the genre one of the most popular one in the country.

According Club Connect proprietor, Biggie Chinoperekwei, Bulawayo music fans have been pushing for the return of the Durban-based duo.

“We were really impressed. People had a good time and that is the reason why we have invited him back. We have brought them back at the right time because they have just released their first album,” said Chinoperekwei.
