Mukamba goes AWOL

HARARE - Eccentric Dynamos midfielder Denver Mukamba is at it again after he went AWOL for the past two days.

With the Glamour Boys preparing for a crunch tie against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab tomorrow, Mukamba has not reported for training without notifying the technical team of his whereabouts.

DeMbare coach Lloyd Mutasa, who has stood by the midfielder in good and bad times, does not want the Mukamba saga to be distraction ahead the crunch tie.

“It’s an issue for another day. We are fully focused on our game against Ngezi Platinum Stars and we will discuss other things after that game,” Mutasa told the Daily News.

Dynamos go into tomorrow’s match in second place on the Castle Lager Premiership log trailing log leaders FC Platinum — by a single point — who take on Harare City at Rufaro Stadium this afternoon.

With only five games to go before the season ends, the Glamour Boys need to win all their remaining games to stand a chance to win the league title.

However, with their star player Mukamba not turning up at training it  might be a tall order for the Harare giants.

Turning to their game against Ngezi, Mutasa said they have prepared well and are looking forward to collect maximum points.

“I think as a club every match that we play is always vital and this one is not exception. We have done our part and I hope we will go to Ngezi and come out with a result that is good. I think we are ready for the match,” Mutasa said.

“Obviously both sets of teams would want to go out and try to get three points. I am sure it’s going to be an interesting match to the fans.

“We have been working hard during the whole course of the week paying special attention to scoring goals as well as defending.

“It is something that we have been working around the clock and I hope the message has gone straight into the youngsters.”
