Mbalula blames Zimbos for farm murders

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa Police minister Fikile Mbalula has blamed immigrant Zimbabweans for the surge in theft and violent deaths of white farmers.

“It’s true that there are criminals who are stealing from farms, undermining farmers work and that,” Mbalula told SABC on Tuesday.

“But equally there are farmers, who are wrong, because they employ people from Zimbabwe as cheap labour and exploit them, and then those people turn against them and kill them and then it becomes a safety question.

“So, I am saying to the farmers as I have met with them, stop that. Help me to ensure compliance, working with the department of labour.

“Don’t employ unregistered, undocumented foreigners in our country and when they turn against you blame SAPS. We’ve got nowhere to find such people.”

He was responding to annual crime statistics tabled in Parliament which showed a country cursed by one of the world’s highest murder rates, and stated white farmers had an even higher risk of violent death. The opposition DA had went to town about the farm murders.

You should add link to clips when such things are said. Otherwise your article remains to excite the people and not informative. A rumour mill.

While i agree that there are quite a lot of undocumented Zimbos working in SA,it is wrong for a whole minister to put the blame on Zimbabweans. Why i say so is that these murders are committed by Zimbabweans then we should go back to the drawing board and check our murder statistics back home.People are actually finding it hard to survive in Zimbabwe due to the comatose economy but do we hear of any murders day in day out like whats happenning in SA?So Zimbabweans suddenly become murderers when they cross the Limpompo river? If anything ,most Zimbabweans are actually afraid of killing save for a few outlaws here and there.Revisit your statistics Mbalula and you will see that South Africans are their own worst enemies in terms of murdering each other. They are not remorseful and most of them have easy access to guns and are a violent lot.

South African population is half Zimbabweans. When people used to come and work here for example from Malawi and Zambia we used to treat them as lesser people. It's out turn to face the music now. Half of South African thrives are from Zimbabwe. Let's be honest here. We are only getting a taste of the medicine we gave out last century
