Let's all play our part

EDITOR — One thing that has become patently and painfully clear to me is a lesson from history: the peaceful masses are irrelevant.

The saying that goes, “Evil only flourishes when good men do nothing,” becomes crystal clear when looking back over Zimbabwe’s history and the current complete and utter mess that Zanu PF have led Zimbabwe into.

The buck stops at the top: always! And so no amount of dirty finger-pointing by our illegitimate excuse for a government will extricate them from the accountability and the justice that is sure to come. It is not a question of if but when.

As a Christian, I must first study the Church’s image in the mirror. The state of a nation is always indicative of the state of the Church. The state of the Church in Zimbabwe is appalling.

The simple fact that the nations’ merry band of looting, greedy, oppressive, violent, blood shedding, corrupt and completely selfish so-called leaders are able to comfortably attend and sit in church services week after week tell its own story.

We may well question the actual preaching of God’s uncompromising word.

If the Church in Zimbabwe were to preach the true gospel to those “leaders” and we individuals would be flat on our faces in absolute broken repentance. And that does not happen, does it?

The errant leader walks out to continue his looting spree and utterly evil ways while the nation destructs. You see repentance would bring restoration to Zimbabwe.

The Church has been infiltrated. You see in Zimbabwe the Church is huge and has huge influence. And to this day the stench of Zanu PF pervades many of what should be the hallowed walls of truth, honour, righteousness and Godliness.

Wake up Church! One wiff of Zanu PF and any serious Christian should be out of that so-called excuse for a Church. The proliferation of the prosperity gospel — a false gospel —  and filthy rich self-styled prophets should be enough to make any one person flee for his or her life.

And secondly, the finger points to the government itself. It is an unalterable, universal law that the buck stops with the leadership. To whom much is given much is expected.

We have had the genocide of the eighties, the oppression of the people, the blood-soaked soil of Zimbabwe, the 700 000 homeless people from the Murambastvina, the total destruction of agriculture and the land debacle that brought Zimbabwe to its knees, the wholesale looting and plunder of an entire nation by a beyond description selfish Zanu PF.

The blatant abuse of our funds from the RBZ — let’s call it by its name (theft) — and the truth that will just not go away: the serious and nefarious lie that each one of our elections have become all remain with no justice and truth then something is clearly very, very wrong.

By subverting the will of the people Zanu PF have torn the future of Zimbabwe’s children away from us and sent us into a disastrous auto reverse.

Zanu PF have become the biggest con in this nation’s history. Independence! What independence? Freedom! What freedom? Today, Zimbabwe does not have an economy.

We do not have infrastructure. We do not have a future.

Anyone who now supports or votes for this evil destruction of a once promising jewel of Africa is most certainly certifiable in terms of the infamous Ingutsheni of Bulawayo.

It’s time Zimbabwe to wake up to the not so palatable truth. It’s time to stand together.

We have given them 37 years and there is absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel as far as these excuses for liberators go.

Look at your nation and just ask yourself, “What do you see?”  And then look at your children and ask yourself, “What of their future.” And then just do something.

Let each one play their part. They chose evil and we will choose good.

Stand up and say, “This far and no further.”

Ushingi.

Good gospel leads people to Christ not to your favourite politician. Who said the church is for the oppressed only.
