Amm finishes second in US tourney

HARARE - Zimbabwe golfer David Amm finished tied for second at the just-ended Greg Norman Junior Invitational tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the United States.

The 17-year-old amateur golfer ended the tournament on 54 hole tournament on four-over par 220 together with Garrick Higgo from South Africa.

The duo were three shots behind winner Jason Hong of Australia, who won the tournament with a score of one-over par 217.

Amm began the tournament with a 71 to take the clubhouse lead after the end of the opening round of the tournament held at Barefoot Resort and Golf.

The Chapman Golf Club-based amateur struggled during the second round after carding a five-over par 77 to surrender his lead.

To his credit, Amm recovered during the third and final round with an even par 72. 

Amm now moves on to Miami, where he will take part in the South Beach International Amateur (SBIA) which starts today at Normandy Shores Golf Club and Miami Beach Golf Club until Thursday.

He will remain in Miami to play in the 53rd Junior Orange Bowl which starts on December 27 to 30 at the Biltmore Golf Course.
