Warriors to fine tune in Cameroon

HARARE - The Warriors will round up their preparations for the 2017 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals with a training camp in Cameroon.

Zimbabwe are scheduled to take on the Indomitable Lions on January 10 at the Omnisports Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde.

The Warriors will use their stay in Cameroon and fine at the Centre of Excellence of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) — Mbankomo according to a notice on the Federation of Cameroon Football (Fecafoot) website.

“The Indomitable Lions will face the Warriors on January 10 at home. This will probably be the last friendly match the two teams will deliver before heading to Gabon where they will take part in Can (Afcon) 2017,” Fecafoot said.

“It is in Cameroon, notably at the Centre of Excellence of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) ...that the national selection of Zimbabwe will make its final preparatory course for the African Cup of Nations (Can) Gabon next year.”

Kalisto Pasuwa’s side is also expected to take on Ivory Coast on Boxing Day in Abidjan in their first friendly international after they regroup on December 22.

The Warriors are also expected to take on South Africa, Egypt and Libya but the dates and venues of those matches are yet to be confirmed.
