HARARE - Pan African financial services group, Ecobank, has appointed Moses Kurenjekwa as its new managing director for the Zimbabwean unit.
Kurenjekwa, who prior to his appointment was head of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), takes over from Daniel Sackey who left Zimbabwe to take up a new post as head of Ecobank Ghana and regional executive for Anglophone West Africa.
“In his five-year tenure as head of CIB, he has grown the unit from infancy into one of the best performing CIB units in the Ecobank Group,” Ecobank Zimbabwe chairman David Whatman said yesterday.
Prior to joining Ecobank, Kurenjekwa spent 15 years within Zimbabwe’s corporate and investment banking sector and established himself as a trade and structured finance expert in the industry.
Kurenjekwa holds a BSc Honours in Business Studies from the University of Zimbabwe and several post graduate qualifications in leadership and credit management.
