Amuli to launch sixth album

HARARE - Sungura artiste Gift “Case” Amuli is set to unveil his latest album titled Masvingo at City Sports Bar in Harare tonight.

The album was recorded at Gweru -based studio Amuli Media, owned by the Wamatuka hit-maker, was produced by Jabulani Ndlovu.

Songs on the album include Chitoro, Georgina, Masvingo, Nhai Baba, Gweja Nyumwa and Makomborero.

Amuli is very bullish about the new album.

“I have confidence in this project and I hope is going to keep the Zvishavane Sounds flag high,” the experienced artiste said.

Amuli began his artistic career in the 1980s with Zvishavane Sounds, famed for the hit Mutongi Gava which was then led by Joseph Mutero.

Initially the band was under the management of the Shabani Mine as part of the company’s social responsibility.

Amuli, who is also an electrician by profession, embarked on a solo musical career in 2002 when he released the album Wedangwe.

The Midlands-based artiste then released Munozvigona Sei, which carries the hit Wamatuka — a song which made Amuli a household name.

Amuli’s other albums include By Ginya, Machena and Yave Munesu (Bhora Mberi).
