All set for Diamond Platnumz concert

HARARE - As Harare readies to host Tanzanian international star Diamond Platnumz tomorrow at Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), the concert has stirred interest among fans as evidenced by the number of tickets sold so far.

One of the event organisers Dee Nosh said businessmen Philip Chiyangwa and Wicknell Chivayo have already purchased over 60 tickets for the VVIP section.

“Tickets are selling fast and ladies have shown interest more as compared to men. The two businesspeople were so excited by the event to the extent of endorsing it through the video which has gone viral on social media platforms,” said Dee Nosh.

Diamond Platnumz who collaborated with Jah Prayzah on the hit song Watora Mari, was expected in Harare last night for a once-off concert.

On Friday, he will share the stage with local artistes Jah Prayzah, Stunner, Judgement Yard, Killer T, Ex Q and Trevor Dongo courtesy of 2 Kings Entertainment. The lady featured on the video Watora Mari, which has attracted over two million hits on social media platform YouTube, is also coming to support the “boys” — Jah Prayzah and Diamond Platnumz.

Dee Nosh said the event is meant to thank their fans,  mainly ladies for standing by them since they ventured into showbiz.

“As 2 Kings Entertainment, we have lined up this concert to thank our female fans who have stood with us as an organisation. We have done our research and found out that Diamond Platnumz is mainly followed by ladies hence the decision to bring him here,” Dee Nosh said.

The 2 Kings Entertainment is behind the Morgan Heritage, Mafikizolo concerts and is also set to host Jamaican international artiste Jah Cure on December 16.
Jah Prayzah had been accused of “stealing a concept” of the video Jerusarema from Diamond Platnumz’s Mdogo Mdogo.

Diamond Platnumz real name Nasibu Abdul Jumma’s video was released in 2014 while Jerusarema video was only released late last year but the striking similarities between the two works of art shocked the entire showbiz industry.
