Zhakata, Sulu to rock Ice and Fire

HARARE - Zora music loving people will be in for a treat this weekend as they will have a rare opportunity to see Leonard Zhakata and Suluman Chimbetu sharing the stage tonight and on Sunday.

Chimbetu and Zhakata take to the stage at Ice and Fire Pamuzinda tonight for what is expected to be a thriller.

On Sunday, the two will have an afternoon concert in Chitungwiza at Zindoga Vica’s Beer Garden.

Chimbetu will be out to impress as he prepares for the launch of his forthcoming album later this year.

Zhakata’s latest album Mutunga Dzese, which was initially met with mixed feelings, is fast gaining ground, with three songs Madam Boss, Zvine Mwaka and Zvinoda Nyasha dominating the local radio charts.

Eriza, Tocky Vibes, Killer T for ZNA charities

CCAP Voice of Mbare launches new album

Harare-based CCAP Voice of Mbare is unveiling their ninth studio album called Mukundi together with the Live DVD Season 2 tonight at Ster-Kinekor in the capital.

The Nganganga hit-makers roped the services of Fishers of Men front man Charles Charamba and Michael Mahendere on the latest nine track album.

Charamba collaborated with the group on the track Tudiki-diki while Mahendere on the title track Mukundi.

“The event is going to run only for two hours; that is from 1700hours to 1900hours,” one of the organisers of the event William Mikaye said.

Mugari consolidates his position

upcoming Dendera musician Nyasha Mugari and his Uncrackables will be out to prove a point this weekend.

The ex-Marxist Brothers band manager is billed to perform at Tabula Maximum 008 in Southlea Park, Harare tonight before dating Budiriro 5 Current Shops where he will perform at Chingwa Night Club tomorrow.

On Sunday, Mugari will perform in Chitungwiza at Chibhanguza Night Club at Zengeza 2 Shopping Centre.

The Zimbabwe Doilly Fair

Today from 8am Borrowdale Race Course will host the Zimbabwe Doilly Fair, which end tomorrow.

There will be a showcase of various crocheted products, basketry, wooden carvings and many more. Entrance is $1 for adults and 50 cents for children.

Spin Fundraiser for Makumbe repainting project

This is a special spin-cycle class for charity which will be conducted by a qualified spin instructor. It will take place at Pro Fitness Health Club Borrowdale, from 5pm.

The class is mainly aimed at regular spin-cyclists but is also open to those who would like to have fun and get in shape while raising funds for a good cause.

Spin-cycles are the stationary bikes used at the gym and coupled with intense rhythmic exercises they provide a good cardio workout routine.

The funds raised will go towards the repainting of Makumbe District Hospital in Goromonzi. This is one of the signature projects for the 2016-2017 Rotary year. The hospital services 300 000 people in the Goromonzi area and most of its patients are birthing mothers and young children.

KSI National Competition

Each year Harare hosts a competition of national scale between all dojos in KSI Zimbabwe. There are individual categories for both Kata and Kumite as well as group categories for Kata and Kumite.

This year the competition is being held at the Wingate Park Golf Club on Saturday from 8am. There will be food on offer at the competition to buy from the club as well as drinks.

All competitors are encouraged to bring family and friends for support.
