Tuku celebrates milestone

HARARE - Music superstar Oliver Mtukudzi will celebrate the release of his landmark 65th album Ehe Kani Nhai Yahweh at Borrowdale Manor in Harare tonight.

The forthcoming show, on the very last day of the month, will come exactly a week after the launch of the new album at the music superstar’s Pakare Paye Arts Centre.

Rising stars Tariro neGitare, Sam Dondo and Jah Prayzah, who have all benefitted from the veteran musician’s mentorship, will share the stage with Tuku at the event being organised by Thompson Dondo’s D&G Events.

Big stars to rock Manicaland Agric show

SEVERAL top artistes who include Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Soul Jah Love and Jah Prayzah will perform at the Manicaland Agricultural Show from today until Sunday.

Gospel diva Fungisai will set the ball rolling this afternoon during the official opening ceremony where she will share the stage with local artistes who include Diamond Kid, Fabulous, Wakatama, Steve Chikoti and Juicer Mpostori.

Zimdancehall crooner Soul Jah Love is scheduled to perform in the evening while Jah Prayzah will perform on Sunday.

Miss Tourism auditions set for Zvishavane

MISS Tourism officials will head to Zvishavane today buoyed by the high number of models who turned up for the pageant’s auditions held in the City of Kings on Thursday.

Over 20 models turned at Rainbow Hotel for auditions which were superintended by a panel which included businessman Benjamin Chimutengo, Miss Tourism Zimbabwe patron Barbara Mzembi and former Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Lorraine Maphala.

The pageant’s spokesperson, Alson Darikayi, was happy with the manner the Bulawayo auditions panned out.

“We are extremely excited with the response. I think we will have a hard time short-listing the finalists who will make up the final 18 who will proceed to the boot camp,” said Darikayi.

SA star Delazy to perform in Zim

SOUTH African female hip-hop musician Toya Delazy will perform in Harare at Borrowdale Racecourse on October 21.

Delazy, who rocked the 2014 edition of the Harare International Festival of the Arts, will return to Zimbabwe as part of her seven-country tour that will involve 20 shows.

Love Is In The Air hit-maker‘s The City tour of African cities, will take her to Lusaka- Zambia, October 1, Cape Town, South Africa, October 8, Zanzibar-Tanzania, October 15, Harare, Zimbabwe, October 21, Windhoek, Namibia, October 22, Gaborone- Botswana, October 28, Nairobi, Kenya, October 30 and lastly Johannesburg, South Africa on November 4.

Delazy’s Harare show is being organised by Sound Event Management.

Andy Muridzo to make Intwasa debut

RISING artiste Andy Muridzo, who has often been accused of being a Jah Prayzah soundalike, will maiden performance at the six-day Intwasa Arts Festival Ko Bulawayo tonight.

Intwasa kicked off in the City of Kings yesterday and will run across seven venues until Saturday.

The Derira hit-maker, who will share the stage with Kokotsha Makokotsha singer Magwaza, said it was an honour to be performing in Bulawayo for the first time.

Tomorrow Intwasa will host the Bulawayo Bayethe Concert, featuring 20 local musicians, at the Large City Hall.

Sulu returns to Mushandirapamwe Hotel

DENDERA musician Suluman Chimbetu will perform at The Volt in the capital tonight before sharing the stage with Cello Culture on Sunday afternoon at Mushandirapamwe Hotel.

Zhakata teams up with Chipfumo

THE week-long Zimbabwe International Film Festival, which will showcase local and foreign films, will kick off tomorrow in Harare. One of the workshops is for film-makers and video directors that will be organised by United Kingdom-based film-maker Tatenda Jamera who has worked for big stars like Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Awilo Longoma.
