Tuku descends on Mutare

HARARE - Music superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi will make a rare return to Mutare tomorrow for a gig at Motoring Club.

Tuku, who will launch a new album titled  Ehe Kani Yahweh in Norton on September 22, will be backed by Mutare-based Reggae Manyika stars —Assegai Crew.

Tomorrow’s gig will be a perfect warm-up for the Ehe Kani Yahweh launch and the high- profile gig the music superstar will hold at Borrowdale Country Manor on September 30 being organised by D&G Events.

DJ Tira, Bucie to headline Golden Pilsener gig

AWARD-WINNING South African musicians DJ Tira and Bucie will headline the Golden Pilsener Afro-fusion Concert set for Belgravia Sports Club on Saturday.

The celebrated South African duo will share the stage with local performers who include Ammara Brown, Jah Prayzah, Ray Dizz, Selekta Base, Fujee and T Base.

Chibuku Road to Fame comes to Vic Falls

THE MATABELELAND North Chibuku Road to Fame provincial finals, featuring 10 groups, will take place tomorrow at Chinotimba Beerhall in Victoria Falls.

The winning group will pocket $1 000 and a place to compete in the national finals scheduled for Glamis Arena on September 24.

The annual event is organised by Delta Beverages in conjunction with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe.

In order to make the music competition more exciting and competitive, the sponsor has increased prize money for the national finals. The first prize has been upped from $4 000 to $7 000 while the second prize has been increased from $3 000 to $5 000. The third prize is now $3 000 from $2 000.

SUNGURA musician Romeo Gasa will unveil his latest album titled Bhoo Zvekuti at Pensao Portugal Restaurant tonight.
