Hwange's Mbweti suspended

HARARE - Castle Lager Premiership leading goal scorer Gift Mbweti is suspended for Hwange’s next match against Chicken Inn after accumulating three yellow cards.

Mbweti will have to miss the trip to Luveve Stadium next Wednesday after picking up his third caution in the 5-3 win over Triangle at the Colliery last weekend.

The Hwange forward shot to the top of the Golden Boot charts after netting a brace in that win over the Lowveld side.

Mbweti converted from the penalty spot in the 84th minute and added a beauty on the stroke of full-time to take his tally to eight goals.

Resurgent Bulawayo giants Highlanders will also be sweating over the absence of their captain Eric Mudzingwa, who is also suspended for Sunday’s trip to Beitbridge to face Border Strikers.

Mudzingwa was on target for Bosso at the weekend when they ended their six-match winless run by defeating How Mine 2-0 at Barbourfields Stadium.

Border Strikers will also be without defender Tinashe Gadzaweta for the clash as he is suspended as well.

The other suspended players are Liberty Chakoroma (Ngezi Platinum Stars), Jimmy Tigere (Harare City), Tichaona Mapungwana (Triangle) and Tsholotsho’s Mostafa Ponyera.
