City Sports Bar hosts inaugural reggae night

HARARE - Reggae artistes will share the stage at the first edition of the Reggae Nite set for the City Sports Bar tonight.

Tonight’s line-up includes Transit Crew, Hotta Fyah, House of Stone, Mannex, Jay Fari, Cello Culture, Nadine Brown, Ras Caleb, Jah Warria, Jnr Bantan, Logmith, Jah Bless, Jimy Wailer, Wellaz, I-Watta, Nutty Rebel and Gullis Kush.

City Sports Bar manager Mathias Bangure said they have created a slot for reggae in response to its growing demand.

“The demand for reggae is ever growing and a mix of conscious roots reggae and dancehall hasn’t been offered yet to a mature audience. We as Devine Assignments want to fill that gap and at the same time offer a much-needed performance platform for our reggae artists and sound systems,” he said.

“Thursday reggae nights are such a success story in joints such as Bassline in South Africa,” he said.

Meanwhile, Private Lounge in Harare will host a Bikini Party featuring Zimdancehall artiste Killer T and Judgement Yard tonight.

The event will also be graced by Beverly Sibanda, Pinky, Zoey Sifelani and Chocolate.
