Acid test for Mafikizolo

HARARE - South African house music group Mafikizolo is dating Harare again to prove their pulling muscle, a job which might be prove daunting.

On most occasions, the Khona hit makers performed indoors, especially at the 5 000-seater-Harare International Conference Centre (HICC)where they packed the joint more than thrice, but this time around, the South Africans will share the stage with local artistes at Belgravia Sports Club grounds.

However, organisers of the event — 2 Kings Entertainment — are optimistic that the group has what it takes to help fill the giant venue.

“They have a new album though it is not yet officially launched. Certainly they will perform some of the tracks off the project in the pipeline and this time around they are coming with a full band.

“K.O from CashTime is also coming to Harare for the first time though he is already known in the country,” Dee Nosh one of the organisers of the event said.

The two South African acts; Mafikizolo and K.O will be sharing the stage with local artistes in the form of Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Judgement Yard, Crimson Blu, Queen V, Jnr Brown, Briss Mbada, Schingy, T-gonzi, Rax the dj, Dj Stavo, Dj Fujee, Selecta Base, Juice the strongest dj, Dj Liz (Byo’s Finest Dj) and Swagg Bakers among others on a concert scheduled for August 27.

Mafikizolo last performed in Harare in December last year where they shared the stage with Zambia’s RnB artiste Roberto and other local artistes including Oliver Mtukudzi, Jah Prayzah and Alexio Kawara among others at HICC in the capital and the event was organised by Simmad Entertainment.
