Kumabhebhi shows revived

HARARE - Female musicians Cindy Munyavi and Clare Nyakujara are back with Kumabhebhi, an initiative that was created as a platform to empower female artistes through showcasing their talents and beauty.

They last held a show under the Kumabhebhi banner in August 2014.

Their first show will be at New Ambassador Hotel on Thursday from 7pm.

“For the past two years, we were focusing on our solo projects. Clare was supposed to travel, she still is and I was focusing on my business and my music as well.

“We were in different places at different times, hence the failure to hold shows. Now we have

decided to revive it,” Munyavi said.

Kumabhebhi is a show meant to celebrate women, especially women entertainers.

Both divas said they will mainly play their original music.

“I will be playing my music only, there is a lot of it, so I want people to come and hear it. I also want to push my brand.

“At this first show, it will just be the two of us but we will engage other ladies in shows to come,” Nyakujara said, adding: “I am planning to tour the US for a year; it is something we are working on. It is an acoustic performance which will be very intimate, up-close and personal. People can even put in music requests.”

Munyavi said they are still in planning stages.

“The concert’s frequency will be advised in due course as we do not want to say things that will hold us at ransom. There is a lot of planning involved and we do all the things by ourselves, with no outside help and this includes selling of tickets, promotions and everything else.

“We are hoping to perfect our act to international standards in all aspects which include choreography, lighting and everything else,” the Ndidzorere Moyo Wangu singer said.
