Fashion designers join cancer battle

HARARE - Nesbitt Castle Bulawayo will host an event dubbed “Fashion Fights Cancer” that is being organised by Fashion Designers Expo Zimbabwe.

According to the chief executive officer of Fashion Designers Expo Zimbabwe Aisha DeBeer, the event will feature various diverse performances including contemporary dance, fire show, chilling song performances, local house music, hip-hop dances, inspirational talks and designs from local fashion entrepreneurs.

“The event seeks to raise funds for the Cancer Association. It also aims to pay special tribute to our loved ones that we have lost to cancer.

“We have Arthur Evans, Top Model Zimbabwe, Miss Universe Zimbabwe finalist 2016, Miss Zambia Finalist 2014 and former Miss Zimbabwe 2005 all supporting the cause.

“Our platform is a fashion extravaganza leading a cause to raise funds for cancer patients in Bulawayo.

“This is currently our first year in Bulawayo and we would like this to be an annual event,” she said.

DeBeer added that they will create a platform for local designers and store owners to showcase shoes, bags, menswear, ladies clothing, plus size outfits, swimwear, couture, traditional, wedding attire and other accessories.
