Tsvangirai, MDC spotlight Zim rot

HARARE - Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai will today chair meetings of the MDC’s national executive and national council which will look into the country’s deepening political and economic crises.

Tsvangirai’s spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka, told the Daily News yesterday that the former prime minister in the government of national unity and President Robert Mugabe’s chief rival ahead of the eagerly anticipated 2018 national elections, had been spurred into action by the ever deteriorating situation in the country.

“President Tsvangirai is taking the current national situation very seriously, hence his convening the two important meetings of the top organs of the party,” he said.

Tamborinyoka said the meetings would also look into the government’s savage clampdown on protestors, which had culminated in the recent arrest of #Tajamuka leader Promise Mkwananzi and prominent clergyman Evan Mawarire.

Tsvangirai and the MDC, who are credited with steadying the country’s dying economy during the unity government era between 2009 and 2013 when they shared executive responsibilities with Mugabe and Zanu PF, are expected to come up with resolutions on how they will respond to the prevailing anarchy.

“The clampdown on citizens for exercising their constitutional rights, the failure by the government to pay civil servants and the collapse of the economy are some of the issues set for discussion.

“The two organs of the party will determine our national response to the crisis, as we witness the end game,” Tamborinyoka added.

Tsvangirai, who beat Mugabe hands down in the hotly disputed 2008 presidential elections, controversially lost the 2013 vote to his nemesis — amid loud claims of vote rigging and other electoral malpractices.

MDC, ZimPF, ZANU PF, This Flag, Tajamuka, Viva Zim etc should go back in history (1500 AD) to the root cause of these socio-economic problems in Africa. When they do proper research and analysis they will find that the worship of the white/pale man is the root. How can people who do not believe in themselves ever prosper? Our ancestors built kingdoms without having gone to university what of today's leadership? The Israelites were enslaved for 400 years but when they realized who they were God intervened.

@ ADF, what is your point, haikona kungotaura manyoka, please if you got nothing to say ingonyarara, hapana chaunobva pane kufugura rokwe ramai vako paruzhinji. We need constructive criticism. The truth of the matter zviripachena is that Mugabe has proved himself as a chartered certified failure, from his house as the father, to the nation as the leader. There is a time in life to walk, to run, to sprint, to rest and to die, our president on his evilness he doesnt recognise that he is nearing his grave hence the need to give someone the baton to carry on. Due to his evil past he has cursed himself thats why he put a blame on everyone on his failures,
