Mutodi for Jam Session

HARARE - Flamboyant sungura musician Energy “Musorowembada” Mutodi will be the star attraction at tonight’s Jam Session at City Sports Bar in Harare.

Mutodi, whose latest and 12th studio album Mupedzanhamo is receiving an overwhelming response from the market, will be sharing the stage with artistes such as dendera musician Allan Chimbetu, and urban groovers Ngoni Kambarami and Sani Makhalima among others.

The businessman-cum-musician’s latest album comprises songs such as Keresi, Vavariro, Uchamutora sei, Ndiri Mufambi and Ndezvavo all engineered by Munyaradzi Viya of Vially Studios.

Mutodi takes music as a hobby.

“Apart from singing I am also a politician and an academic as I author several Geography textbooks used in high schools in a number of countries including Zimbabwe as well as a researcher in financial markets and economics.

Some of his albums include Simbi YaM’dhara (with Real Sounds of Africa), Kumasese (with Real Sounds of Africa), Sekawo Mbichana, Magetsi Ngaabake, Kuita Kuri Kwenyu, Chimvuramabwe, Ndinorota Landlord, Chidhedhedhe, Ndiri Munzira Kuuya and Ndinokutendai.

Jam Session is a weekly event where artistes from different genres are offered an opportunity to briefly showcase before a sizeable crowd.

Some of the artistes who performed at the event include Taso, Cde Chinx, Paradzai Mesi and his Njerama Boys, Shepherd Chinyani, Nicholas Zakaria, Hosea Chipanga, Tedious Matsito, Sugar Sugar and Joseph Garakara among others.
