Zim ladies closer to global qualifiers

HARARE - Zimbabwe are a match away from qualifying for the ICC 2016 Africa Women’s World Twenty20 Global Qualifiers as they lead the African qualifiers with 12 points having won all their four matches so far.

The Africa Women’s T20 qualifiers end today with hosts Zimbabwe taking on Kenya in the morning at Alexandra Sports Club before shifting base to Country Club for their final match against Uganda.

Kenya are in second place with six points from two wins and should Zimbabwe win the tie against the East Africans they would seal qualification to the next stage reducing to an academic interest their late clash against Uganda.

The Kenyans on the other hand would be willing to make their last match against Tanzania count, making the clash against Zimbabwe a must-win encounter.

In the other match lined-up for today Uganda lock horns with Tanzania at Country Club in the morning.
