Mutare Rovers coach in accident

MUTARE - Mutare City Rovers’ assistant coach Kennedy Kachara missed his side’s game against Dynamos at the weekend after he was involved in a car accident.

Kachara was involved in the accident while commuting from the club house in Fern Valley to join the team.

Mutare City Rovers spokesperson Clayton Masekesa confirmed the accident.

“The coach was indeed involved in an accident and rushed to Mutare General Hospital where he was treated and discharged and is now recovering at home...He will re-join the team soon.,” Masekesa said.

Magusha as the municipal police side is affectionately known were edged 1 – 2 by a resurgent Dynamos.

Rovers, however, inspired hope as new coach Taku Shariwa has introduced a new brand of soccer to the club.

Shariwa admitted that the defence still has a lot to do after giving away what he felt were soft goals — the first by failing to position themselves and the second by failing to track Roderick Mutuma.

“I’m still not happy with my defence because we gave away two soft goals and we conceded too early,” Shariwa said after the match.
