Tsvangirai ready to take Zanu PF head on

HARARE - Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has hinted that he would be leading mass protests as well as stay away actions to force President Robert Mugabe to implement electoral reforms ahead of the much-anticipated 2018 general elections.

Addressing a rally in Marondera at the weekend, the MDC leader said Zimbabwe has reached a critical stage for the people to demand free and fair elections.

“We are entering a season of action, vakatirambidza kuti tiite peacefull elections hatiende kubasa because hapana zvazvinotibatsira kuswera tichitengesa madomasi pese pese, ingava nyika iyoyi (we are not going to work if they cannot grant us electoral reforms),” Tsvangirai said.

“The world is asking, are there people in Zimbabwe? Are we cowards? When people run away from police officers, what is that?”

The MDC leader also urged the youths to register as voters if they entertain any hopes of dislodging Zanu PF from power.

“Many young people are not registered to vote.

“There is need for them to register. Isu vamwe takura, haufi wakadestroyer zita rokuti Tsvangirai, ukauraya ini kune vamwe vana Morgan vakatowanda  (We are now old but you can’t destroy the name Tsvangirai), you don’t destroy the messenger because of the message, the message will be the same, President Robert Mugabe must go.

“If there are Central Intelligence Officers (CIOs) and police, you will be surprised if you go and tell Mugabe that Tsvangirai was in Marondera, he will tell you that you are still behind, we have been fighting with Tsvangirai for long and I failed to destroy his party.

“We have to create another generation that will take over after us,” Tsvangirai added.

With Zanu PF completely consumed by its deadly infighting, pitting embattled Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s faction against the party’s young Turks known as the Generation 40, the opposition is presently campaigning freely without interference or intimidation.

Tsvangirai’s spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka said his boss “is a grassroots mobiliser. He is presently touring the nation to know the problems affecting people in different parts of the country”.

“The anger against Mugabe’s misrule is growing by each day, as everyone is suffering,” Tamborinyoka said.

The MDC president has so far been to Masvingo, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East and Matabeleland, where he has addressed huge rallies.

I agree with MDC-T President that everywhere you go people are saying where are the learned people of Zimbabwe. They only hear that Mugabe has done this, has suspended or expelled so and so and many other things. Are these decisions only done by one man? All people in the streets or in the rural areas are seriously crying for the day normal life will come back to Zimbabwe. Ladies and gentleman we have left one man fr too long to continue doing all he wants while we are watching.

Chikwengweru - 21 March 2016

That really sounds like Tsvang now, mobilizing the way he used to in the late 90's early 2000's. This is what everyone has been waiting for, i'm sure most people are prepared and not scared to take to the streets and i'm pretty sure this is the right time to voice our frustrations. Bob and zanu must GO!!!

pamberi na Morgan Tsvangirayi!! pamberi ne MDC - T!!

SaManyika Chaiye - 21 March 2016

Cde Tsvangirai , you should not talk of demos any more. they do not work. Teachers, nurses, civil servants etc will not demonstrate. They are already under big fear of loosing jobs as they are being followed everyday by the public service inspectors. You still think they will go to the street. Forget.

Perfect time to launch demos by all sane and brave zimbabweans time is ripe now and we can easily crush those who are causing misery to us . Morgan has said it all it is up to us to solve our never ending troubles . I was also one day while in DRC no so long told ZIMBABWE HAKUNA BANAWUME NIBANAMUKE BULE. in Swahili meaning they are no amadoda sibili in zimbabwe but only women .Naturally i was frustrated but as we all know that is true .Once Morgan calls for people to stand up and free themselves most men will go under their beds and start denouncing him for trying to bring problems for them hey sic mani .VIVA Morgan ngenkani !!!!!!!!!

@Zviro Mujuru has no political party ZPF is for baba Mutasa and Gumbo you remember they formed it while Mujuru was hiding and morning her departure from her beloved zanu . Any time Mutasa and Gumbo can fire her she is just a puppet of the two old guys kkkkkkkkkkk.

Diibulaanyika - 22 March 2016

@mr zvirozvi; cutting a snake's head does not make it a fish baba! meaning, for joyisi to be fired out of zanu does not make her presidential material. she was vp as part of a scam that was being played by wana rhobhati to keep the matebes at bay when they duly deserved a post in the presidium. she was just a pawn baba! she does not meet the slightest threshold of a leader capable of managing even a stable economy let alone this one burning of ours. Tsvangirayi is the trump card since 2000 but the zanu machinery has been too strong thanks to the likes sadc, obasanjo, Mbeki, china etc who continued to solemnise rhobhati against the will of the people. it would have been difficult for tsvangirayi to incite us to uprise when the regional blocs and the so called 'respectable' statemen where behind rhobhati. remember the sadc troika and its reports on zim; all these guys were paid handsomely by rhobhati to conceal the truth. thhe best we can do is stand by tsvangson till sunrise! pamberi namorgan!

SaManyika Chaiye - 22 March 2016

i stood by him in the past until i realized that its a waste of time the guy is clueless except panyaya dzemadzimai. he is also a handiende type just like mugabe he is trying to replace. we will not replace a dictator with a dictator. mai mujuru would be easier to remove if she became a handiende type which i don't think she would. the whole idea is to have change bros. for that matter we don't need the best brains. look where the so called best got us to. this time lets allow mothers to fight it out. for me i choose mother dr mujuru.

zvirozviyedzwa - 22 March 2016

the reason why Zimbabwe is this situation is because an average Zimbabwean doesn't want the truth. below are some of the truths that people routinely circumvent: 1. rwavhi gukurahundi Mugabe committed genocide in Zimbabwe mainly the gukurahundi atrocities of the 1980s. this is the reason why he doesn't want to vacate the throne because he knows that he will be arrested. this has nothing to do with his marriage to grace is this come well after he had committed the crimes. 2. grace is a useless slut who left her marriage to get married to rwavhi because of pecuniary gains. 3. joice mujuru was the main driver of corruption in zanu with her late hubby rex. she owns a number of farms, mine and buildings around the country. she has no positive contribution to make to the country given her horrendous performance in govt for the past 35 years. she is a liar who wants us to believe that she always had differences with Mugabe yet she begged him to stay on the eve of her official cashiering. the fact that on top of her priorities is the chasing of solo's killers shows that she is in it for her own benefit and not for national benefit. tsvangirayi lost his wife in dodgy circumstances but never has he said that he wants to avenge that. also, joice consistently said that she has no ambition to become president now she is lying that people requested her to be president. the day we learnt to accept and tell the truth, our country and ourselves shall be liberated!!! VIVA SAVE 2018 VIVA!!!

Dont stress on mujuru.she will cme bak into Zanla ,then we post her into zanu high command.she knows.out ther she stands no chance against us.so being one of us its better she comes bak I to war vets, zanla.she just has to content wth zanla seniority.she is a dota of the struggle.Gumbo n Mutasa will be retired ,senior party members ,a council of zanla elders.by the way its zanla n zipra. So dnt stress yoself on events that taking correctional path. Those nt happy wth us ,its democracy go for yo party of choice.its a choice.Tsvangirai is a zimbo,an elder zimbabwean politician. He shuld be respected for that,he shuld be able to walk into an Zimbabwean embasy in any country n be respected by the embasy pple.So is Dabengwa, Simba n welshman.Thats the politics we need to encourage for a better zim.Politics of hatred shuld go.we the comrades now dispise that.

viola gwena - 22 March 2016

Sister Vee if thats what tha warvets want its super n good.I saw here Malema when he came here he was invited at the South African embassy for dinner.

gire - 22 March 2016

Thank god zanu is going so they will be no zanla after 2018 and those who support these morons will disappear from politics for good and civilians shall rule without interruptions from these less intelligent thugs Mujuru .included .

Diibulaanyika - 22 March 2016

That will be great viola.lets see which leader of yos can do that.obvious yu wnt Tsvngirai to remain opposition.

bob - 22 March 2016

Yes Bob its possible, very possible.hatred takes yu nowhr.Anger n profenity have no place in tdays leaders.Love n honesty is the game.Insults shows mental shallowness. Why shuldnt we be a pple, all of us Zimbos, black, white, indian,we shuld build our country for our children. It starts now.

viola gwena - 22 March 2016

Diibu when viola is speaking yu shutup.yu r booboo the fool.nxa.tula wena.

hunda - 22 March 2016

want do i talk with a fool like Viola i am a fool like her and i have benefited nothing from zanu like her .

Diibulaanyika - 23 March 2016

""......Why shuldnt we be a pple, all of us Zimbos, black, white, indian,we shuld build our country for our children. It starts """......Viola, are you for real? Don't you see what ZANU is doing to its people, to its Country? You proudly talk of your people in the rural areas. Your people??!! They HATE ZANU with a passsion but are too scared because of "the degres in violence" character of ZANU. Now what sort of revolutionary party is that? The sooner these guys in ZANU are history the better for our country. All they know is violence, right from the inception of the party, during "Madiro" days, to Zambia where murder was a daily occurance, to Moza where hordes of ANC youngsters were slaughtered and ZAPU cadres were lucky to escape the ill-fated ZIPA. Today they terrorise the masses, engage in looting, neglect all the infrastructures and happily watch a once prosperous country slide into ruin. Again I ask, what sort of revolutionary party is that?

Dunlop Munjanja - 23 March 2016

No sane person can be happy with what is happening our in country or mazanga e zanu can pretend to be happy when they are eating shiit in their houses . If you benefited from zanu rot and you are happy do not tell the majority who are suffering each day they do not know where to start bcoz everything has been run down by these fools suwa how can a sane person say be happy when you can not provide for your family simply bcoz zanu has ravaged our economy that shows how satanic are these zanu idiots..

Diibulaanyika - 23 March 2016

@Diibulaanyika You said me bro. Amazing really that people can be so blind to their own abject fortunes because of ZANU. There will be many Tsvangson detractors and by no means is he faultless but he holds us together in this fight against the evil enemy ZANU. Lets not be swayed people, the MDC will deliver us from the evil.
