Tricky opening fixtures for Chicken Inn

HARARE - Champions Chicken Inn will start the defence of their Castle Lager Premiership title with a tough home encounter against former champions Dynamos when the 2016 season kicks off next month.

Joey Antipas’ men will then have to travel to newly-promoted side Border Strikers for their second game of the season before hosting How Mine a week later in their first Bulawayo derby.

The Gamecocks will then travel to Nyamhunga Stadium to face Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba in their fourth match before heading to Luveve Stadium for another derby against Bulawayo City.

After facing the Gamecocks in their first match of the season, Dynamos will return to Harare to face their former coach David Mandigora and Triangle.

On match day three, the Glamour Boys will travel to the Eastern Highlands to face new boys Mutare City at Sakubva Stadium.

Match day four presents the first Harare derby when Dynamos will host their rivals CAPS United in their first meeting of the season.

Highlanders start their 2016 season with an away trip to the Colliery to face Hwange before hosting Norman Mapeza’s FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium.

Bosso will then face Tsholotsho FC on match day three before taking on their newly-promoted neighbours Bulawayo City in the City of Kings derby the following weekend.

CAPS United start their 2016 campaign with a home match against Chapungu before travelling to Baobab Stadium to face newly-promoted side Ngezi Platinum Stars the following weekend.

Makepekepe will host Harare City on match day three before taking on DeMbare in the Harare derby on match day four.

Last season’s surprise packages, FC Platinum kick off their season with a date with Tsholotsho FC at Mandava Stadium.

Mapeza’s side will meet Highlanders in their second match before taking on Chapungu in the Midlands derby the following weekend.

Another important date to look out for is on match day eight when Dynamos host Highlanders in Harare.

This is one of the eagerly anticipated clashes on the Premiership calendar which most fans will be looking forward to witness.
