HARARE - Over 20 artists from the Zimbabwe Applied Art in Craft Association (ZACCA) will showcase their artifacts at the Belgravia-based Nzou Arts Cultural Centre (NZACC) today.
According to NZACC spokesperson Yukiko Nakamura, the range of hand-made art and craft products that will be on display will include baskets, beads and batik.
“The Valentine’s Day Eve Cultural Market will run from 10am to 5:00pm. This is part of our efforts to come up with an event full of cultural things, sounds and tastes. We will also prepare special cultural food on the day,” Nakamura told the Daily News.
She added that entertainment at the event will be provided by two marimba bands from the Dzivarasekwa-based Tsoro Art Centre.
“We will have powerful two talented marimba groups from Tsoro Art Centre. One is a group of young boys aged between 11 and 15 years called Mhodzi that will share the stage with a women marimba group called Denga Nemakore that recently performed in Wales as part of a cultural exchange programme,” said Nakamura.
