Top comedian Ncube lines up 'anti-poaching' gig

HARARE - Zimbabwe's leading stand-up comedian, Carl Joshua Ncube, will perform at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Amphitheatre tonight in an event that seeks to raise funds for the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU).

Ncube is delighted that the charity event dubbed “Wild, Wild Valentines” will be his first show this year.

“People can expect to fall in love again and learn about our beautiful country from a conservation perspective.

“One of the things I love about Victoria Falls is the huge effort towards sustainable tourism, which is why I love the fact that VFAPU is ensuring that future generations can also enjoy the beautiful animals that we enjoy today.

“Even though I am personally terrified of stuff like game drives, which makes for interesting comedy, as I do hope to overcome that fear, and I’m sure many people feel the same way,” said the award-winning comedian.

Ross Kennedy, the chief executive of Africa Albida Tourism Hospitality Group that owns Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, is looking forward to Ncube’s unique open air performance.

“It will be wonderful to have Carl Joshua Ncube with us again in Victoria Falls this weekend — fun, laughter, humour and all for a very special cause — VFAPU,” said Kennedy.
