HARARE - Zimbabwe have made a slight and almost insignificant move according to the latest edition of the Fifa/Coca Cola World Rankings released yesterday.
The rankings by the world football controlling body Fifa saw the Warriors move up to 108 in the world up from 110.
Warriors have had little game time in recent months and are currently in camp preparing for the 2016 African Nations Championships to be held in Rwanda later this month.
The Warriors are set to leave on January 16, for the fourth edition of the African Nations Championships in Rwanda where they are in Group D with Mali, Zambia and Uganda.
African heavy weights, Ivory Coast, retained their place as the best team in Africa, followed by Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde and Tunisia.
In Europe, Belgium start 2016 atop Fifa’s national team rankings ahead of World Cup finalists Argentina, European champions Spain and World champions Germany after winning eight of their nine games last year.
The top 10 of Fifa’s rankings released yesterday remains unchanged since it was last updated December 3, because of the lack of international matches.
