Mafikizolo, Roberto jet in tomorrow

HARARE - South African house music group Mafikizolo and Zambian RnB singer Roberto are expected to land at Harare International Airport tomorrow for their joint show at Harare International Conference Centre on Friday night.

Mafikizolo and Roberto will share the stage with local stars Oliver Mtukudzi, Jah Prayzah and Alexio Kawara.

Simba Madziva of Simmad Entertainment, who is organising the show, told the Daily News that all preparations were going according to schedule.

“All is set for the show. Advance tickets are already on sale and we are now waiting for Friday. We are looking to a great show,” Madziva said.

Mafikizolo have over the years proved to be the darlings of Harare and as such the December 18 gig will provide an opportunity for Roberto to show his mettle.

The Zambian, who once worked with South African group Boom Shaka, has performed in several African countries that include Rwanda, Namibia and Uganda.

Born Robert Banda, the Zambian has a string of hits including Don’t Say You Do, These Words, Nikutasha, Save our Love, Bengi and 2009 award-winning song Akasuba. His most popular song in Zimbabwe is without doubt Amarula.
