12 beauties battle for Miss Archies

HARARE - Harare basement club, Archies will tonight hold the second round of the Miss Archies pageant that will see the contest choosing its finalists from the 12 beauties who made it through the first round.

The winners will meet in the final show to be held at the end of this month.

DJ Sammy, one of the pageant’s coordinators said after successfully hosting the first round which was a full house, they are tonight geared for a mouth-watering event.

“We have more than six DJs playing during tonight’s event that will screen the girls leaving a few finalists who will battle it out at the end of the month.

“The first round saw the club filled to the rafters and this showed just how this contest has developed from last year’s edition.”

The club’s manageress Kuda said she was confident that the contest is going according to plan.

“We have everything set and the prizes for those fighting it out in the first and second rounds are encouraging.

“We are looking at the finals now set for the end of the month where we have special guests and big prizes to give away.”

Kuda said summer nights always bring the best in terms of entertainment.

“People need somewhere nice to cool around and with our basement club, once you are in you forget about the heat wave — everything is cool in the club because of the air conditioning system.”
