'Zambezi Magic' to feature more Zim productions

HARARE - Zambezi Magic, the DStv channel dedicated to southern Africa, has lined up several Zimbabwean productions that the station has described as the best in home-brewed entertainment.

According to Zambezi Magic head Addiel Dzinoreva these are part of efforts to ensure the participation of local audiences and content providers.

“We have been busy on the ground…from roundtables with local producers to recent call-outs for scripts,” said Dzinoreva.

“We have content that our audiences are proud of and can also identify with. It gives us such a pleasure to be able to present this amazing line-up that will continue to reflect the stories and different lifestyles of Zimbabweans,” said Dzinoreva.

Some of the programmes that have been added by the DStv channel that was launched on July 1 this year to the line-up include:

- Zim Top Ten: A weekly 13-part music series that counts down Zimbabwe’s top ten music videos. A sure treat for music lovers as viewers participate by choosing their weekly favourite music videos online.

- Wine and Dine with Tumi: A cooking show that will give viewers some valuable and yummy ideas to entertain in style. Come and wine and dine with Tumi and share a warm and fun experience with her guests and friends over some good food and wine.

- Tonight with Zororo: Want to stay abreast with what has been making news in your area?

Tune in to this vibrant current affairs talk show that tackles various issues from the prospective of young urbanite Zimbabweans. The show is hosted by rising TV star Zororo Makamba.

The line-up of locally-produced movies that Zambezi Magic viewers can look forward to includes:

- Dust and Fortunes: The movie tells the story of dreams.

The main actor in the film is a disabled school dropout who loved football.

He forms a team that succeeds in playing against the biggest football club, Dynamos.

- Maria’s Vision: This is a tale of a couple whose worlds have gone drastically wrong.

With one staying in the marriage and the other walking out, fate throws at Maria financial situations that force her to drop her principles and integrity.
