Sulu dates Chivi, Chitown

HARARE - Dendera star Suluman Chimbetu, pictured, who will perform in Chivi for the first time tonight, has a packed diary that includes a concert at Mabvuku’s Moonlight Club and a family show set for Damview in Chitungwiza on Sunday.

Orchestra Dendera Kings publicist Joel Nyamungoma told the Daily News that Suluman was particularly looking forward to the Damview family show.

“We are very delighted to have been chosen to officially open Damview which is probably Chitungwiza’s newest entertainment joint.

“The family show is an opportunity for people to see and know the new joint while also sampling our new offerings like Moses Rova Gungwa Netsvimbo and Makamaradha.

“For over two months we have been playing away from Harare so this is an opportunity for our fans to come to Chitungwiza, which is not far from Harare,” said Nyamungoma.

At Damview, that lies on the shores of Prince Edward Dam and to the left of Chikwanha Shopping Centre, the Batai Munhu singer will be supported by upcoming sungura musician Mollen “Senator” Tichareva and the Skylimit Express. Tichareva has a single album to his name titled Nguva Yakwana.

Damview proprietor Alfred Mumba is delighted to have attracted an artiste of Sulu’s calibre.

“I would like to promise patrons a pleasant outing in an exciting family environment that overlooks Prince Edward Dam.

“Damview is more of an open-air joint, which is the best you can hope for in this hot weather.

“We decided on Sulu because he is one of the top musicians in the country at present and patrons will surely find the experience memorable,” said Mumba.
