Tickets for Konshens gig on sale

HARARE - Tickets for the Castle 120 Year Summer Celebrations Event, that will feature Jamaican star Konshens, South African group Beatenberg and a host of local artistes, are now on sale.

Delta Beverages, who are jointly organising the event at Old Georgians Sports Club in conjunction with Musica 2015 on October 10, have pegged the minimum entry price at $5.

“Pre-sales online tickets can be bought on Options include debit/credit card as well as Eco-cash, cash deposit and RTGS. Pre-sales of tickets will also be through selected ticket outlets which are Old Georgians,  Absolute Sport at Sam Levy’s Village and UMax Recharge Points located in Avondale, CBD, Graniteside and Borrowdale,” said Delta Beverages in a statement yesterday.

The statement added that the high-profile gig, which will showcase the talents of local artistes Winky D, Africa Revenge, Hope Masike and Evicted as well as Marco Maggiore (Italy) and Ivan Mazuze (Mozambique), will be open to only people over 18 years of age,” read part of the statement.

Though the Castle Lager Summer Celebration gig has lined up great entertainers, it is clear that Konshens will be the star of the show. The internationally-acclaimed singer was scheduled to tour Zimbabwe last year but he called off the trip at the last minute after the Jamaican government had barred its artistes from performing in then Ebola-hit Africa.

Konshens, whose real name is Garfield Delano Spence, became a international star courtesy of his hits Winner, Rasta Impostor, This Means Money, Good Girl Gone Bad, Gal Dem A Talk, Realest Song, Represent, Do Sumn, Forward and  Gal a bubble.

The Jamaican artiste, who performed in Kampala, Uganda early this month alongside compatriot Busy Signal at an event called Dance with the Champions, will come to Zimbabwe in the midst of a two-month tour of Europe.

Before coming to Zimbabwe, Konshens and members of his SubKonshus camp are scheduled to perform on club dates in Germany, The Netherlands, Spain and Austria alongside his brother, deejay Delus, and singer Darrio.
