Hollywood stars laud birthday boy Uebert Angel

HARARE - Although celebrity preacher,  Uebert Angel's birthday is three weeks away, congratulatory messages have already started pouring in with Hollywood celebrities leading the pack.

The Spirit Embassy Ministries founder, who will turn 37 on September 6, has received congratulatory messages from international celebrities like Gwen Stefani (musician), Vivica Fox (actress), Angela Basset (actress) as well as Terrence Howard who is popularly known as Lucious Lyon. The birthday wishes came via congratulatory videos posted on Instagram.

On his Instagram video, Lucious Lyon, who is a hip-hop artist and chief executive officer of Empire Entertainment, said:

“Hey this is Lucious Lyon, wishing Prophet Eubert Angel a happy birthday.”

Not to be outdone was veteran actress Vivica Fox, who is best known for her roles in such movies as Independence Day, Set It Off, Soul Food, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Kill Bill, Booty Call, Sharknado 2: The Second One and Juwanna Mann, who said:

“Hey there it’s your girl Vivica Fox; I want to take a moment to wish the Prophet Eubert Angel, a very special birthday. Enjoy your birthday and stay blessed,” said Fox.

The message from American singer, songwriter, fashion designer, and actress Gwen Stefani was short and effective.

“Hello my name is Gwen Stefani and I want to say happy birthday to Prophet Angel,” said Stefani.

American actress and film director Angela Basset went thus:

“I’m wishing you, Prophet Eubert Angel, a very blessed birthday. May it be counted as one of your best so far and yet the only beginning of a year that is fulfilling and wondrous. I’m wishing you, your beautiful wife Beverly a wonderful day.”

Ironically, the congratulatory messages are coming thick and fast despite the fact that Angel was recently taken to court for allegedly defrauding a congregant of an expensive Bentley.

However, the case was dismissed in June after the plaintiff failed to provide enough proof to show he had been defrauded. Angel, who is currently based in the United Kingdom, has not returned to Zimbabwe since the Bentley issue surfaced.

Maybe the congratulatory messages Angel is receiving from international celebrities prove that a prophet is least appreciated in his own land.

Some Zimbabwean cynics are even claiming that the Spirit Embassy Ministries founder is taking advantage of celebrities who use their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram accounts to endorse products for a fee.
