Ruthless Namibia wallop Sables 80-6

HARARE - Namibia have lifted the 2015 Africa Cup 1A trophy after showing their class to dispatch an ill-prepared Zimbabwe 80-6 at Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium in Windhoek yesterday.

The Sables pack was totally outclassed by the Welwitschias forwards led by flank Renaldo Bothma in a one-sided encounter.

Flyhalf Tich Makwanya gave Zimbabwe an early lead with a penalty from the halfway line and from there on it was all downhill for the visitors.

The 2015 Rugby World Cup-bound Namibia pinned back the Sables in their own 22 and quickly wrestled control of the game.

By halftime, the Welwitschias had run in four tries while Makwanya had slotted another penalty to take a 28-6 lead at the interval.

In the second period, the Sables did not bother the scoreboard operators further as they were completely run over by the Namibians.

The Welwitschias went on to run away with the match and they were probably targeting getting 100 points on the board.

However, the Sables were able to restrict the marauding hosts to scoring a further eight tries.

This was just too much. A feeding scheme mus be made available for our sables boys. Rugby players must eat a lot and go to gym. Its all about weight and power.
