Bako out to consolidate lead

HARARE - Top junior Zimbabwean motocross rider Emmanuel Bako will be hoping to consolidate his position at the top of the 2015 Monster Energy MX South African National Championship series in Johannesburg at the weekend.

Bako remains on course to win this year’s 50cc Pro title in the Monster Energy South African National Championships following some great riding in recent months.

With only three races left on the calendar, Bako sits at the top of the standings of the 2015 Monster Energy MX South African National Championship series with 162 points ahead of rival from South Africa, Wian du Plooy, who has 152 points.

James Thompson is a distant third with 148 points and Bako is hoping to consolidate his position at the top.

And after finishing fourth at the last race Bako’s father Brighton is confident of an improved performance from the talented rider.

“He has been doing well lately and we are aiming for top spot this time around,” he said.

“He is more excited and raring to go. He has been training for this with his coach Stanley Mugiyo for a while now.

“He is also saying he is ready and we are looking forward to a good outing.

Another top local junior rider Kuda Mhene is another Zimbabwean rider, who is also expected to take part in the event.

Jayden Ashwell is also expected to compete in the main MX1 where he will take top South African riders.
