Hiceac ball games on

HARARE - Private colleges from across Harare today converge at the National Sports Stadium for Harare Independent Colleges Educational Advisory Council (Hiceac) ball games.

The tournament will see seven districts namely, Glen view-Mufakose, Warren-Malborough, Northern-Central, Ep-Mafara, Chitungwiza, Mbare and High Glen fighting for honours in basketball, soccer, volleyball and netball.

Hiceac sports committee chairman Nkululeko Moyo said they are excepting an exciting competition and everyone is now geared for the event.

“We have managed to organise ourselves now with the help of our mother ministry and we are now ready for the event,” Moyo told the Daily News yesterday.

“We have noticed that there is a lot of talent being left untapped in the country and the idea is to give an opportunity to those schools that have athletics as an extra-curriculum to fully participate so that they can discover and groom young talent.

“Through our mother ministry, private colleges must emulate what National Association of Secondary Schools Heads is doing. We must set a national board which will organise various sports events,” he added.
