Tongogara back on top

HARARE - Tongogara are back on top of the Zifa Central Region Division One League table courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Sable Chemicals over the weekend.

After 12 rounds of action, the former top flight side now lead the log standings with 27 points while second-placed ZPC Munyati trail on goal difference.

ZPC Munyati surrendered top spot despite edging Blanket Mine 2-1.

Former Premiership side Shabanie Mine’s revival was cut short after they went down 2-1 to FC Platinum Under-19 in a Zvishavane derby.

With the defeat, the asbestos miners are now in sixth place on the log with 20 points, seven behind Tongogara.

In the Zifa Southern Region Division One League, Bulawayo City cemented their top spot after beating Ntabazinduna 3-0 over the weekend. The Bulawayo side now lead the log standings with 30 points while second-paced Bulawayo Chiefs, who beat Old Nic Mine 2-0, trail on goal difference.

Third-placed ZPC Hwange continued with their poor form after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Trumus.
