Thomas Chideu at Ajax for trials

HARARE - Highlanders could lose striker Thomas Chideu, who left the country yesterday for South Africa for a week-long trial stint with Absa Premiership side Ajax Cape Town.

Chideu signed for Bosso at the start of the season on a three-year contract after completing his education at Prince Edward School in Harare.

The 18-year old, who is represented by player agent Gibson Mahachi, has settled in well at the Bulawayo giants and was recently called by Calisto Pasuwa into the Warriors squad that beat Comoros 2-0 in the Chan qualifiers.

His agent Mahachi, in confirming the trial stint at Ajax Cape Town said he is confident he will impress Roger De Sa, the Ajax coach.

“He is already in South Africa; he left yesterday morning,” Mahachi told the Daily News.

“He has been playing well and I hope he will do the same. If he makes the grade, he will be joining them for next season.”

Chideu did not feature in Sunday’s defeat to Dynamos as he was serving a one-match suspension after receiving three yellow cards and the striker used the time to undergo trials.
